Position: Economic Development Coordinator
SUMMARY:
The Economic Development Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing the economic growth and resilience of Henderson County, North Carolina. This position will involve managing special projects, coordinating disaster recovery efforts, and fostering long-term development initiatives. The role is designed to be flexible and adaptable, taking on a variety of tasks as needed to support the organization’s goals. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of economic development, project management and community engagement.
Goals and Objectives:
- Manage special projects aimed at boosting economic growth and resilience in Henderson County.
- Oversee communications, internal marketing, design coordination, website and social media resources.
- Foster long-term development initiatives that align with the organization’s goals and community needs.
- Adapt to various tasks as needed to support the organization’s objectives and respond to emerging challenges.
- Support the HCPED team including leadership, board, and other team members.
- Support project work, research, marketing, other duties as assigned.
- Coordinate resources and identify needed resources, programs and partners to fill gaps.
- Execute administrative tasks such as invoicing, maintaining databases, taking meeting minutes, facility support, and providing event support.
- Engage public and private sector leadership in activities and initiatives.
- Support community recovery efforts related to businesses and economic development for Henderson County, acting as a liaison to other organizations.
- Gain a quick understanding of Henderson County and its community culture.
Desired Job Experience and Expertise:
- Experience in economic development, project management, or a related field.
- Ability to collaborate with local businesses, leaders and stakeholders and provide solutions.
- Knowledge and understanding of economic development operational functions.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
Hours: Full Time desired, will consider Part Time. Office hours are Monday- Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Some after-hours work, events, and travel may be required. The anticipated salary range for this position is $50,000 – $65,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
