2017 Economic Development Legislative Priorities
Strengthen Policies and Programs that Support North Carolina’s Business Competitiveness to Create Quality Jobs, Generate Private Investment and Secure Company Locations and Expansions
Priority 1 – Eliminate the cap and sunset on the Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG) to make JDIG a completely viable tool for both rural and urban areas of the state.
Priority 2 – Expand funding to the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) and the NC Department of Commerce (NCDOC)
for marketing, business recruitment, and existing business expansion, and establish a closing incentive fund to help North Carolina compete for high impact economic development projects.
Priority 3 – Develop viable industrial sites – including mega sites – in rural, suburban and urban areas of the state by funding and activating the NCDOC Site Infrastructure Development Fund.
