NC is #1 in Economic Growth Potential, #3 in Biotech Strength
Business Facilities magazine, the New Jersey-based publication for site selection professionals, is out with its annual business climate rankings, and North Carolina is getting high marks for economic growth potential, solar installation, Opportunity Zones and other measures. Overall, the state ranked among the top ten in 11 of 24 categories. North Carolina won top honors in the Economic Growth Potential category, with Colorado and Virginia taking the second and third spots, respectively. “Our leaders in Economic Growth Potential each have put down markers that they are prepared to compete in the hottest emerging growth sectors,” said Editor-in-Chief Jack Rogers. In terms of biotechnology industry capacity, North Carolina came in #3 behind California and New Jersey. The publication ranked the state #2 in terms of solar installation and #10 for Opportunity Zones.
