NCEDA recognizes and supports the advancement of outstanding
practitioners by annually awarding three scholarships for
professional development.
These scholarships honor individuals whose contributions
to the profession, commitment to high professional and personal
standards, and professional success earned the respect of
peers and associates:
- The Dan Stewart Scholarship to the Economic Development Course provides $575 toward tuition to the one-week basic economic development course at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
- The Jack Ervin Scholarship to the Economic Development Institute provides tuition ($650/year) to the three-year Economic Development Institute.
- The Governor James E. Holshouser Professional
Development Scholarship provides general support ($1,000/year for three years) toward the cost of attending the Economic Development Institute.
Scholarship recipients are recognized at NCEDA meetings,
in the newsletter and in news releases to local media.
Applications
are received in late December and awarded at the MidWinter
Conference in March.
